Sweet Date Night Idea

My word of the year is connect… as a reminder one of the areas that I’m intentionally working on making more connections is my marriage. So, Willie and I have been looking for new ways to connect every day without distractions.

On the blog today, I’ll be discussing a sweet date night idea. Date nights are super important in maintaining a happy, healthy relationship with your spouse. But, it can be challenging whether you have kids or not. Willie and I love cookies and the idea of a simple weekly tradition. Which resulted in our weekly date night activity of making freshly, baked cookies.

Here are the steps to our sweet, cookie date night idea:

  1. Choose a cookie recipe

  2. Make a shopping list and buy the ingredients

  3. Take a date night photo to capture your memories

The rules are simple in that we bake the cookies, sit on the couch and talk, no phones allowed. Let me help you out a little don’t just sit there but snuggle up on the couch and sample your creation together. Baking together creates the atmosphere for a cozy, intimate and romantic date.  If you are looking for a great cookie recipe.  Please check out Taylor’s “Soft and Chewy Double Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie recipe” here.

In all honesty this could be done with a meal, pizza, etc. The key is not what’s on the menu but; the connection it creates between you and your spouse.

XO, Kangelia
