My 2024 Word of the Year…

Hey loves, a few years ago I started the practice of coming up with a word for the year in lieu of a making new year resolutions. I am so excited for this year’s one word and how it is going to change my life. After much prayer God finally confirmed my word for this year.

Instead of a New Year’s resolution that I honestly wouldn’t stick to...my word of the year is used to help guide my decisions and continue moving toward my goals.  I pray that each of you are either prepping or relaxing as necessary. I’ve been up since 4:30 am praying, planning and in preparation to put these new goals into action. May this be your most epic year yet .

The word that God put on my heart was… Enough. Enough defined

“as much or as many as required. … sufficient amount or quantity …”

AUSTRALIAN POCKET OXFORD DICTIONARY, SIXTH EDITION, 2007

I will be adding “I am enough” to my affirmations that I journal daily.

I have knowledge, skills, and experience to share that can, will  and does help others.

The verse I have chosen for Enough – One Word for 2024 is: For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ.

COLOSSIANS 2:9-10A TLB

So, most of all I am enough because I have Christ.  With Christ I can do more than I can ask or imagine (Eph 3:20).

THE WHY

I’ve chosen this word to remind myself that I am complete as I am. I don’t require to do more, be more, or learn more. I need to put into action what I already know. This word came to me as I reflected on the past year. I realized the abundance of experience and skills I possess. I have a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience to share with others. I’ve also come to understand that I don't need to keep accumulating knowledge, but rather begin acting on what I already know. I will still continue to read new books and explore new opportunities, but my focus is on putting into action what I already know and what I feel inspired to do.

Here’s the thing, every day I am blessed.  Whether it is through the people I share my life with or the stranger on the street or the grace of Jesus, every single day I am blessed.  All the “things” working me up all the time are just things and instead of sitting around feeding myself the lie that it’s all too much I need to face the truth it is all ENOUGH!

THE HOW

Are you wondering how I’m going to live with ease this year? Well, here are ten ways that I will be ENOUGH this year.

I hope to have enough….

  • dates with my husband to stay connected

  • laughs with all my kids together but also enough one on one time with each to really gage their hearts.

  • sweet time with friends sharing our good, bad and ugly

  • focus to listen intently to others

  • food to fuel my body; not enough to fuel the free world!

  • exercise to make me aware I’m truly alive!

  • quiet time fueling my soul

I hope to recognize I have more than enough….

  • time as long as I manage it well

  • clothes if I choose wisely and only choose pieces I love

  • space when it is organized and free of clutter

  • love if I choose to receive it!

  • freedom to choose when to say yes and when to say no!

  • compassion towards others.

  • resources in my toolbox

I hope I learn enough is enough when it comes to….

  • whining over things I cannot control

  • feeling sorry for myself

  • making excuses

  • taking care of me!

  • prioritizing my peace

And I really, really hope I continue to remember I am enough! Every day no matter whether the dishes and laundry are done, whether I’ve healed hearts or lost my marbles, I hope I remember God’s grace is sufficient and it is enough to make me whole!

MY ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOU

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like I am not enough. I don’t have enough time, wisdom, energy and resources to accomplish what God has asked me to.

BUT RECENTLY, GOD HAS BEEN REMINDING ME-HE IS ENOUGH!

Friend, God is Enough! Maybe you need to hear this message too!

We don’t need to rely on our own strength or our own resources. We just need to be faithful and God will be fruitful!

WE JUST NEED TO REMEMBER WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE, WE ARE ENOUGH!

I need this message daily, so I am spending all of 2024 focusing on it!

2024 is my year to lean into my purpose. “Enough” is not about noticing everything I don’t do. It’s not about anything lacking in my life. Instead, it is about recognizing all the things that are good and right already and choosing to believe it’s sufficient. It’s operating from an abundance mindset instead of scarcity. It’s giving myself permission to say, “That’s not something I choose to care about,” and “My time and energy are already accounted for.”

Do I feel confident enough in the things I do care about? That they are enough and I am enough as I lean into them? Can I choose to say “No thanks” to the rest?

I think I can.

It’s time to remember: enough.

I have enough.
I do enough.
I am enough.

I have everything I need

I am made just right

I’m not too late, I’m right on time. So here’s to a year of ENOUGH!

What word are you choosing for this year? I’d love to know what your Word of the Year is and why you chose it. Leave it here in the comments to share with our community. Speaking it is a beautiful way to get things flowing. I’ll be praying for you as you embark on this new year! I pray that the Lord helps and guides you on this journey called life.

Be blessed, loves! And know that you too are ENOUGH

XO, Kangelia
